Web site text creation / enhancement

I have been designing, maintaining and improving web sites since 1999, and now specialise mainly in the area of text content optimisation.

It's certainly not enough to have a visually stunning web site. Most web design companies can provide you with something that looks good. However, it's usually up to you, the client, to provide the written content for the site, and your designer will simply paste this into the site's pages. But are you completely confident that what you can write will represent you as well as possible? Do you even have the time to generate all that text? If not, this where Rowan Creative comes in.

With many years of experience in both research and writing, I am able to gather and organise information, and present it in a clear and easily accessible format. The strength of the web sites I have created lies in the detailed, but clearly written and logically organised, text content within them.

Biographies

My professional work in this field began in 1996 with biographical research on Manchester band Oasis, where the information I sourced was used as the basis for a section of an Interactive Songbook on CD Rom, produced in partnership with Europress and Northstar Multimedia.

In recent years my work has branched out in several different directions, although most within the field of music. I have written many short commissioned artist biographies, and several more in-depth pieces.
The texts have been used extensively for promotional purposes for the artists, both online, and with record labels, radio stations, and the media.

Press Releases

I have a great deal of experience in writing press releases, through my current commissions with bands and solo artists, and also through earlier media liaison work with environmental organisations, such as Manchester Friends of the Earth and East Manchester Environment and Recycling Group (EMERGE).

Social Media Management (profile creation and administration)

I've been creating and administering web sites for several years, and have an a great deal of experience of identifying and building specific demographic audiences, and maintaining regular connections with them.
I spcialise mainly in online services for musicians, and run the official sites for several artists, including the critically-acclaimed singer-songwriter Matthew Jay. My work with Matthew's record label led me to the creation and administration of Matthew's official Myspace profile, and I later extended this service to other artists, labels and live music venues.

Social networking tools such as Facebook and Twitter have really taken off in the past couple of years, and both individuals and companies have discovered that they are an extremely useful tool in getting a message to an almost infinite, wide-ranging audience in a very short space of time. Utilising applications such as bulletins and updates an extensive network of contacts, you can inform people of products and services at the click of a button. For the past three years I have been setting up and/or administering Myspace music profiles for clients, or providing a consultation service for those people who wish to learn
how to run their profiles themselves.
